Wind energy use increases most among renewables
In the first four months of 2009, wind energy expanded 34.5 percent compared to the same months of 2008, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration's most recent Monthly Energy Review.
Renewable energies - hydropower, biomass, geothermal, solar and wind - also reached .664 quadrillion Btu's (quads) in April 2009 out of 5.980 quads total energy production for that month. That's 11% of the United States' energy production that came from renewables!
