The Bay City Times says the event will include guided bus tours of the 32-windmill Harvest Wind Farm in Oliver and Chandler townships, located 110 miles north of Detroit, plus a 5K walk and run, bicycle tour, softball tournament, live music and family activities.

Bus tours will cost $3 and a barbecued pork dinner can be had for $7, but most events at the festival will be free.

Video conference-Missouri DNR-Community and State Economic Impacts of Wind Energy Production

The launch of wind farms in northern Missouri in the past two years has left many Missourians wanting to know about the possibilities for wind power in their communities.

Beginning Wednesday (June 25) with a live, statewide videoconference, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources’ Energy Center is conducting public forums to discuss the state’s wind energy potential.

Renewables and Energy Efficiency Roadshow 2008-Wind Energy and Bio Energy

This is the final stop in the Renewables & Energy Efficiency Roadshow, organized by the German American Chamber of Commerce of the Midwest (GACCoM). It will focus on Wind Energy and BioEnergy.

The primary objective of the conference is to open a dialog for partnership between two of the world’s leading countries in developing and implementing new Renewable and Energy Efficient technologies. As with all four locations along the Roadshow, Minneapolis will feature an afternoon conference, followed by a networking reception.
