Rosemount, MN - Join the University of Minnesota and others interested in renewable energy for a community forum on Thursday, July 29, to highlight the launch of wind energy research and the siting of a cutting-edge wind turbine at UMore Park. The U's Initiative for Renewable Energy and the Environment provided significant early-stage funding to support the formation of the wind energy research consortium which includes public and private sector organizations.
The plan for this new, sustainable community integrates environmental, socio-cultural and economic opportunities with a specific focus on innovations in renewable energy, education and lifelong learning, health and wellness, the natural environment and regional economic development. The forum discussion will include brief summaries of the vision for the UMore Park property, the wind energy research project, and other research, education and partnerships related to renewable energy opportunities.
The event will be held on Thursday, July 29 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. at the Rosemount Community Center in Rosemount.
