The Mid-Atlantic/Southeastern Regional Wind Energy Institute (RWEI) provides a means for state wind working groups in Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, South Carolina, West Virginia, Tennessee and Georgia to better equip themselves with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively communicate and promote wind power in their states.
Windustry's own Lisa Daniels and Rebecca Pilcher-Cleland were two of the speakers for this webinar aimed at people interested in Community Wind in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern states.
Also presenting were representatives of the Hull Wind project in Hull, MA.
Topics on the webinar include:
- an overview to starting a community wind project (Rebecca Pilcher-Cleland);
- financial structures for community wind projects (Lisa Daniels);
- and a first hand account of community acceptance from Hull, MA (Andrew Stern/ Malcolm Brown).
October 20 & 21, 2007, Western North Carolina Renewable Energy Initiative Research & Demonstration Facility, Beech Mountain, NC. Participants will learn the basics of residential wind systems from the world's leading manufacturer of small wind turbines. The hands-on portion of the workshop will involve a tour of the Beech Mountain wind turbines and installation of SWWP's newest product, the Skystream 3.7, described as "the first affordable energy producing appliance for homes and businesses".
North Carolina Wind Energy Initiative, Beech Mountain, NC. This workshop will be held at the Wind Energy Research & Demonstration facility in Beech Mountain, NC which features an assortment of residential wind turbines on the market from 400 Watts to 20 kW. Participants will learn all about the new ARE 110 wind turbine from the experts at Abundant Renewable Energy during this hands-on installation workshop.
