This blog from a Bloomberg writer shows dramatically how wind lowers electric rates for consumers, and threatens the coal and nuclear industries. We can't help but note that the writer fails to mention that coal and nuclear energy are subsidized to a much greater extent than is wind.
Special thanks to our volunteers who helped out so much at this year's exhibit.
Extra special recognition goes to volunteers extraordinare Paul Dinyer and Todd Triebold. Paul and Todd have volunteered with us at the fair every year for at least the last 4 years, and have gone well above and beyond in helping us out each year. Besides staffing the exhibit Paul helped us move in and move out. And Todd worked an amazing 7 shifts. So, extra special thanks to you guys. You ROCK!
Some notable achievements:

- Distributed wind capacity grew by 62 percent in 2012.
- Texas, Minnesota, Iowa, California, and Massachusetts led the states for all cumulative distributed wind installations over the past 10 years.
In May of 2013 Minnesota's net metering policy was updated to allow for a higher limit on the size of projects eligible for net metering. You can find a more detailed version of the policy here, but we've compiled the most important bits of information in this infographic for your visual and educational pleasure.
